Dean of Arts and Sciences manages administrative functions of the college of arts and sciences. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Arts and Sciences leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Arts and Sciences requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Arts and Sciences manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Position Summary

    The program coordinator provides operational support for fundamental aspects of the Film and Media Studies (FMS) academic programming.

    Job Description

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    Supervises And Manages The Program’s Film Screening Activities

    • Runs or delegates the running of film and media screenings for courses.
    • Manages schedules for those activities.
    • Covers course-related and program-related events.
    • Oversees staffing, troubleshooting, and campus partnerships or contacts to carry out screenings.

    Coordinates Production (filmmaking) Aspects Of The Program

    • Ensures smooth operation of film-making courses by keeping equipment in working order.
    • Holds responsibility for unit equipment, including check-in/check-out process, inventory management, and new equipment acquisition.

    Manages Equipment For The Programs

    • Responsible for acquiring, replacing, and upkeep for all unit equipment, including any materials needed for coursework, screening, and production.
    • Carries out purchasing, renting, maintaining/repairing equipment.
    • Carries out inventory and assessment for equipment.
    • Coordinates with instructors and festival organizers for use of equipment and spaces.
    • Maintains and holds responsibility for annual equipment budget.

    Curates Film And Media Library, Resources, And Events

    • Supervises acquisition and storage of media resources.
    • Coordinates rental and shipping of media.
    • Facilitates special screening events and programming.
    • Maintains budget.

    Supervises Employees

    • Recruits, trains, assigns student workers.
    • Coordinates outside contractors and vendors for ad hoc support.
    • May supervise regular staff.

    A program coordinator with the appropriate instructional qualifications and credentials in a related area may be able to provide course instruction on a limited basis, in addition to other duties.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree.
    • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
    • Experience with film and video equipment.
    • Budgeting and logistical skills.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree with three years of related experience.
    • A combination of education and experience totaling eight years may substitute for the degree requirement.

    G10-H

    Salary Range

    $24.97 - $38.71 / Hourly

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
