Database Engineer plans, designs, develops, and manages an organization's databases to ensure efficient data storage, access, and security. Collaborates with users to design, code, test, debug, and deploy databases that meet requirements and organizational needs. Being a Database Engineer writes queries, stored procedures and functions for database development. Monitors databases' performance, scalability, and security and modifies procedures to optimize database designs. Additionally, Database Engineer evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates, performance tuning, and integration requirements. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of database technologies and solid coding and computer system skills. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Database Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Database Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Monitor performance on application databases, queries and suggest/apply continuous tuning. - The responsibilities include working closely with application teams and other Stakeholders in identifying issues related to MSSQL.
- Must have experience in tuning of database instances.
- Responsible for producing standards to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security, and performance.
- The DBA will perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the site standards are being adhered to.
- Has a good technical understanding and provides technical support to application development teams when necessary.
- Assist in resolving priority incidents to quickly eliminate impacts, participate in root-cause analysis, and support subsequent corrective and preventative actions.
- Work closely with Database Team Lead, collaborate with various Application support and engineering teams to optimize database performance and reliability.
- Senior Database Administrator are encouraged and supported to acquire relevant Azure certifications (e.g. DP-300, DP-900, AZ-900 Exam).
Establish, maintain, and adhere to CRD technical standards, policies, and procedures.
