Data Science Director establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals of the data science function. Provides strategic guidance and overall direction for analytical efforts. Position Summary: Senior level sales position responsible for managing and growing existing customer accounts and expanding our business into new accounts. Key customers include, but are not limited to: Tractor Supply, Menards, Costco, BJ's, Ace, True Value, Do It Best, BFG, Arett, Fleet Farm, Bomgaars, Blain's.
The National Accounts Director will lead the development and implementation of customer-specific sales and plans. He or she must build and maintain excellent relationships with key decision makers at target accounts and have a solid understanding of strategic consumer products selling and the consumer lawn and garden category.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Manage and grow business with assigned existing customers.
· Develop and execute effective customer specific sales plans, gaining new listings and growing existing business.
· Build excellent relationships with key decision makers at all levels of assigned accounts.
· Develop a detailed understanding of how to “get things done” with assigned accounts, including line review timing/expectations, assortment and merchandising strategies, new product set-up, forecasting, and customer specific promotional programs.
· Effectively work with Earth Science Supply Chain and Marketing Services teams to develop accurate sales forecasts and provide excellent customer service.
Working Relationships: Reports directly to the President of Earth Science. Key contributor to the Earth Science Leadership Team
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
· “Salesman” mentality with ability to develop and deliver conceptual product sales pitches – not an “order taker”.
· Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
· Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.
· Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook. PowerPoint skills are particularly important.
· Must be able to work in fast-paced, deadline driven and growing environment.
· Must possess a high degree of professionalism and ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information.
· “Can do” approach; brings recommendations to the table to effectively resolve problems or issues.
Other Credentials:
· BS/BA Degree with 5 years of consumer products account management experience.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in the consumer lawn and garden industry.
· Excellent established relationships with at least one of our target growth accounts.
· Experience in working with manufacturing representative agencies to penetrate accounts and ensure execution of sales plans.
