Field Service Technician for Data Centers

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Field Technician for Data Centers to support and maintain our data center operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining data center equipment and infrastructure. This role involves traveling to various data center sites, ensuring the highest levels of reliability and performance.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and inspections of Data Center Support Infrastructure, including but not limited to UPS Systems, Transfer Switches, Generators, Computer Room Air Conditioners, Chillers, Dry Coolers and Pump Systems.
• Supervise vendors for Data Center Support Infrastructure installation and/or maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Install of UPS systems, Data Cabling, Network Racks and other data center equipment.
• Install and Manage Data Center Infrastructure Monitoring Systems.
• Rack and Stack servers, networking devices, and other data center equipment.
• Conduct routine monitoring of data center systems to identify and mitigate potential issues.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately for reporting and future reference.
• Provide on-site support during emergency situations and scheduled maintenance windows.
• Assist in managing inventory and ordering necessary parts and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols within data center environments.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate degree in IT, computer science, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a field technician, preferably in data center environments.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including UPS Systems, Transfer Switches, Generators, Computer Room Air Conditioners, Chillers, Dry Coolers and Pump Systems.
• Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Familiarity with data center management software and monitoring tools.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various data center locations.
• OSHA Certification preferred
• Knowledge of electrical and cooling systems preferred
• Knowledge of data center security and compliance standards.
