Under general supervision, the Data Center Manager/Systems Engineer serves as a lead technical resource providing support and coordination for the System Office and the sixteen (16) colleges as needed. This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring and operation of system office data center and all associated systems and resources. Provides technical support for Storage Area Networks, virtual servers, backup and DR systems, desktop environment and mobile devices. Provides technical consulting services regarding the design, development, and operation of information systems and solutions to all divisions and colleges as needed. Works closely with the Application Development and Reporting Team, as well as other IT project teams and groups to accomplish goals and projects.
A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology systems or a related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Advanced knowledge of Network and server design, network administration practices and procedures, microcomputer and network hardware and software, including switching and routing. Experience and expertise in VMWare, MS Windows server, network and MS Office 365 administration. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Extensive knowledge of or Certification in networking technology and devices.
