    The Job

    The Data Architect plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality, accessibility, and governance of our organization's data assets. This position will be in charge of data architecture design for both new and existing systems, creating and enforcing data standards, managing important datasets, policies, and procedures, and guaranteeing the general accuracy and consistency of business data. It will also encourage data literacy throughout the company and work with stakeholders and business analysts to maximize the use of data.

     

     

    What You’ll Do

    • Work with application and systems architects to understand the technical data model.
    • Collaborate regularly with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
    • Build and maintain data business and presentation layers for internal stakeholders (not systems/applications).
    • Implement a data catalog/governance tool that will empower business stakeholders to discover answers faster.
    • Train users on data quality, access, and governance regulations.
    • Define and maintain data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across the organization.
    • Develop and implement data quality standards and metrics.
    • Establish, enforce, and evangelize data best practices.
    • Create and maintain data dictionaries and glossaries to ensure consistent terminology definitions and meanings and documentation about data flow through connected systems.
    • Develop and enforce data access controls and security measures, including maintaining a catalog of sensitive datasets subject to additional security measures.
    • Identify data quality issues, such as data cleansing,correction,and enrichment.
    • Trends and patterns in data usage should be monitored and reported on.
    • Keep up with new data management trends and technology.
    • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned.

    What You Need

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology,computer science,business administration, or a related field.
    • 3 years of experience in data architecture, data management,data quality,or data governance.
    • Strong SQL skills and the ability to work with multiple RDBMS.
    • Proven experience in developing and implementing data quality standards and metrics.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
    • Working knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
    • Passion for data quality and the ability to influence stakeholders.

     

    Preferred Skills

    • 1 years of experience in consumer finance or auto finance industries.
    • Proficiency in utilizing data cataloging tools such as Collate/OpenMetadata, Atlan, Amundsen, DataHub, etc.
    • Experience using tools/techniques to automatically categorize data.
    • Knowledge of data access controls and security protocols a plus.
    • Tableau proficiency.
    • Experience with Pentaho Data Integration or another ETL tool (Informatica, Alteryx, etc.).

     

    Physical Requirements

    • Staring at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
    • Frequent but minimal physical effort, such as sitting, standing, and walking.
    • Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture are required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.
