    Vice President of Risk and Compliance – South Burlington, VT


    As the Vice President of Risk and Compliance, you are responsible for leading the Risk and Compliance functions for Vermont Federal Credit Union (VFCU) through developing and maintaining highly effective enterprise risk management and compliance programs that ensure VFCU is evaluating and adjusting our risk levels and maintaining regulatory compliance.

    Job Description:

    • Responsible for the leadership and direction of the Risk and Compliance team, which includes staff focused on risk management, regulatory compliance, quality control, BSA/AML oversight, and fraud.. Participates and leads by example in coaching and development of staff. Responsible for succession planning and staff retention within the department.
    • Responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the Credit Union’s operational and strategic risk. Develops Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to an enterprise risk management framework. Ensures the Credit Union’s risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and strategic initiatives of the Credit Union.
    • As a member of the VP team, you will work and collaborate directly with Senior Officers in developing and monitoring strategic initiatives, organizational performance and community involvement. Participates in the formulation, recommendation and implementation of Credit Union policies, programs, goals and annual budget for areas of responsibility. Understands and champions a purpose-driven culture and leads by example. Consistently demonstrates leadership competencies, core values, respect and accountability.

    Requirements:

    • Eight years of experience at the professional level, with an ability to analyze, interpret and operationalize laws and regulations in a highly regulated industry.
    • Experience with risk and compliance functions, preferably in the financial services industry or an industry with similar complexity and impact.
    • Ability to lead and work in cross-functional teams in order to achieve desired results. Previous supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
