Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and capable Senior Credit Risk Management Analyst to join our growing Credit Risk Management team at Mountain America Credit Union (MACU). Our goal within the Credit Risk Management Program is to protect MACU and create confidence in our health and resilience by ensuring that credit risks are known, clear, communicated, and considered. You will help us accomplish this goal through the job activities listed below. Job Description Job Description LOCATION Mountain America Center - Hybrid 9800 S Monroe St Sandy, UT 84070 SCHEDULE Full time; This is a hybrid position with some in office days required. Typically 3-4 days in office and 1-2 remote, depending on business need. To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully. Assist in assessing the credit risk exposure of the credit union by: Actively engaging with first-line business stakeholders to understand lending products, processes, strategies, and risks. Actively engaging with first- and second-line business stakeholders to review and assess potential credit risks associated with lending portfolios, products, processes, and strategies. Proactively identifying and surfacing potential risks and concerns to relevant stakeholders. Creating, reviewing, and presenting risk assessments and reports to stakeholders. Assisting and guiding business units in the development of remediation plans and timelines for identified risks. Reviewing existing reporting and documenting/communicating any changes or trends within the data analyzed. Review existing reporting, monitoring, and assessment processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Working with first- and second-line partners to brainstorm, develop, and visualize new reporting opportunities for credit risk monitoring. Reviewing loan data on an individual and aggregate basis to determine potential risks, adherence to policy and procedures, and reasonability of loan ratings or overrides. Assisting in the preparation of reporting to management. Working with management, seek to continually improve program reporting and documentation. Contributing to and supporting the implementation and evolution of the Credit Risk Management Program strategy and road map. Utilizing judgment, perspective, and ownership in fulfilling job functions. Regulatory Compliance: Staying up to date on evolving regulatory requirements and expectations, as well as industry best practices for credit risk management. Managing the preparation of regulatory reports and audits related to credit risk. Assisting business units in responding to and remediating regulatory exam or audit findings. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Experience A minimum of 6 years of lending and/or credit analysis in consumer and/or commercial lending, preferably with a financial institution. Experience in multiple facets or areas of lending preferred. Strong understanding of lending products, terms, underwriting criteria, and servicing and liquidation practices. Additional Preferred Experience: Strong knowledge of applicable credit union laws and regulations related to lending. Education Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field required – OR four additional years of progressive work experience in lending, credit analysis, or risk management. Education must be from an accredited institution. Education and work experience will be verified. Licenses, Certifications, Registrations None required. Computer/Office Equipment Skills Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Data analytics and data validation skills and proficiency in business data analysis. Experience with analytical and reporting software preferred. Familiarity with internal credit union systems and processes preferred. Managerial Responsibility No managerial responsibilities. Language Skills Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing. Other Skills and Abilities Adaptive to change, responds positively to altered circumstances or conditions. Ability to read and interpret federal, state, and NCUA regulations as well as internal policy guidelines related to lending. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze financial data and reporting in a variety of formats. Ability to scope and lead a risk assessment or project from start to end and present results to stakeholders and senior leaders. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead and collaborate with multiple teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability and willingness to provide suggestions to improve processes and efficiencies. Able to negotiate and compromise to come to solutions satisfactory to multiple parties.
