Credit Clerk jobs in Washington
Credit Clerk evaluates and suggests creditworthiness of prospects and customers to decrease financial risk to the organization. Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals. Being a Credit Clerk communicates with the customers and other departments to solve the credit problems. May negotiate terms of payment to assist with collection of overdue balances. Additionally, Credit Clerk requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Credit Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. As a crucial member of our team, you will be tasked with the processing of customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and taking appropriate action to resolve credit inquiries and collect delinquent payments.
- Process customer credit applications in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain and update customer credit records and collection files
- Build and support relationships with dealer and contractor accounts
- Apply daily deposits to customer accounts and communicate any discrepancies
- Perform collection calls on past due accounts, negotiate and propose solutions for past due balances
- Monitor the financial condition of accounts and recommend changes in credit status and/or credit limits, as necessary
- Reconcile customer accounts and respond to customer inquiries via phone and/or email
- Review and release orders on credit hold and update account profiles with new billing/account information
- Work closely with the Credit Manager as needed with daily tasks and responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
