Credit Clerk evaluates and suggests creditworthiness of prospects and customers to decrease financial risk to the organization. Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals. Being a Credit Clerk communicates with the customers and other departments to solve the credit problems. May negotiate terms of payment to assist with collection of overdue balances. Additionally, Credit Clerk requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Credit Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. A Recovery Clerk is responsible for data entry and maintenance of member files, titles, garnishments, levies, and judgments. Our Recovery Clerk will need to be able to provide excellent organizational skills, prioritize daily, and have great member service. This position is heavily relied on when preparing documents for bankruptcy, communicating with attorneys, and assisting with subpoenas. At times, this position will work as an overflow team to our collectors, answering phones for them, taking messages, logging payment arrangements, and/or taking payments over the phone.
