    Seen Finance is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Regulatory Counsel to join our team. The Regulatory Counsel will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of finance, technology, and regulation.

    The Job…

    • Provide our growing team with guidance on laws, regulations and regulatory developments associated with the consumer lending industry, with a particular emphasis on credit cards issued as part of a bank partnership program.
    • Serve as primary legal and regulatory contact for the compliance, product, analytics, marketing and other teams, advising on issues related to the credit card program, as well as new products.
    • Remain up-to-date on relevant consumer finance and consumer protection laws and regulations to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance advice.
    • Assist with legal inventories, policies and procedures, applications and agreements and related documentation.
    • Work closely with the audit and compliance teams to help them design effective tests and controls to ensure processes are being implemented.
    • Provide ideas and insights into how the company can work within the law to create amazing product experiences for its customers.
    • Be an enthusiastic generalist who can help with new and varied challenges as they arise, in teamwork with the rest of the legal group.

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar association with at least one state bar.
    • 10 years of combined, relevant regulatory experience in law firms, governmental agencies, and/or in-house legal departments, preferably in high-growth environments.
    • Expertise in consumer finance and banking laws, particularly as applied to open end credit, and the regulatory aspects of product development and intermediation in the financial industry.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work constructively with a team.
    • Fluency translating legal advice into actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectively.
    • Sound and practical business judgment, intellectual creativity, and problem-solving skills.
