Creative Manager is responsible for managing all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout for creative projects. Being a Creative Manager implements policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals. Manages and develops a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors. Additionally, Creative Manager leads the development of creative briefs and utilizes design methodologies that meet the business objectives and timelines of the organization and stakeholders. Evaluates and adopts the most effective tools and techniques across all media. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Creative Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Creative Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Responsibilities and Duties

    • Greets all guests warmly, including, but not limited to, visitors, volunteers, vendors, staff, guests, donors, community groups, church groups, and public officials
    • Supervises a cross-functional team of graphic designers, copywriters, social-media experts, photographers/videographers, and project managers in the strategic development of messaging and deliverables
    • Leads and reviews the work of the Creative Team for all web, print, and digital creative projects
    • Prioritizes work and resources across engagements, based on short- and long-term needs, and develop schedules by collaborates with designers, copywriters, and production entities
    • Demonstrates knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
    • Conducts brainstorming sessions with the Creative Team, maintaining strategic thinking to develop innovative and actionable initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner
    • Plans, implements, and manages the creative teams designed to meet the strategic plan’s goals and objectives
    • Reviews and approves art and copy developed by the team, ensuring that deliverables address creative goals and challenges effectively
    • Produces fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for all audiences
    • Oversees the presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
    • Spearheads and manages content strategy for both small and large projects, connecting brand design, copy, art, and digital technology
    • Develops internal creative campaigns that translate objectives across business units into clear and motivating creative strategies
    • Meets budget requirements by forecasting and managing expenses
    • Prepares development reports including plans, accomplishments, and challenges for senior leadership and board meetings
    • Creates integrated content across all creative marketing channels including digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print
    • Provides strategic leadership of owned assets and digital media to enhance the message
    • Ensures brand management and provide consistency across all platforms, including social media, websites, marketing materials, internal publications, training materials, and other deliverables
    • Enforces brand standards across all design assets, executing a high aesthetic and technical quality for all creative projects
    • Supervises the creative workflow and schedule of design from inception to completion
    • Improves results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes within the creative team and its workflow
    • Coordinates with management and staff to stay updated on GRM news and events
    • Communicates with administration and team on upcoming projects that generate donations and donor inquiries
    • Develops, manages, and executes social media strategies, including paid and organic marketing campaigns
    • Tracks and analyzes content performance
    • Collaborates with external partners on strategic marketing campaigns
    • Confers with creative, art, copywriting, or production team to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts and to coordinate creative activities
    • Attends professional training and networking opportunities as directed 
    • Attends staff meetings or other meetings as directed 
    • Supports the Creative Team directly and conduct monthly coaching conversations and performance evaluations
    • Manages web-based time and attendance records of subordinates
    • Ensures personnel and administrative policies as being adhered to
    • Ensures that the culture and process are correctly being used and train new staff as required
    • Conducts or arranges for staff training and development
    • Intervenes in staff conflict resolution as needed
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Provides full leadership and supervisory support to creative team and GRM teams
    • Manages, addresses, and coaches team situations and responsibilities in collaboration with CDO and Director of Human Resources
    • Upholds policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding behavior, conduct, and GRM practices; and escalate manage, and report issues with transparency and accountability
    • Participates in interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, recognition, disciplining, and termination of direct reports as necessary
    • Provides assistance to the CDO and/or Executive Team as required to resolve all complaints of guests, staff, volunteers, and partner/outside agencies or entities
    • Attends professional training and networking opportunities as directed
    • Manages employees’ web-based time and attendance records
    • Supports and attend GRM team meetings
    • Provides weekly reports as directed
    • Performs other duties as assigned
