Cost Estimation Engineer jobs in New Jersey
Cost Estimation Engineer estimates costs for construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other implementation projects based on an analysis of project technical requirements. Collects data and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate. Being a Cost Estimation Engineer identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. Additionally, Cost Estimation Engineer coordinates with project management, engineering, procurement and other project stakeholders. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cost Estimation Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Primary Function
Responsible for providing project support services in the setup and implementation of the Cost Control System.
Typical Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of Project Controls- Become familiar with the standard company Cost and Contract Management System
- Working with the Senior Project Administrator, support the setup of the Project Baseline;
- Cost Reports
- Time-Phased Reports/Curves
- Contract Price Breakdown and Earned Value Reporting
- Risk Analysis and Change Control Management
- Client Billing Requirements
- Client Reporting Requirements
- Internal Reporting Requirements
- Working with the Project Team, support the analysis of Forecasted Cost and associated Financial status
- Provide input to Client Progress Report/Coordinate Preparation of Internal Report
- Ensure the prompt Review and Approval of Invoices
- Work with the Director of Project Controls and Director of Projects to ensure a proactive response to Project Cost – Issues and Concerns, and associated Contingency Management actions
- Provide support to Department initiatives and training programs
- Overall 10-15 years of experience in Cost Control
- Demonstrated experience in large EPC Projects – Cost Control
- Experience with supporting Client Billings based on Milestone Payment Schedule or Schedule of Values
- Experience with Change Control Management
- Experience with Financial Management
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of JDE/Ecosys – preferred
