Job Purpose
The Cost Analyst ensures that information critical to the manufacturing and quoting of all products manufactured by Roastar is accurate. The Cost Analyst is accountable for creating accurate cost and price estimates within our ERP system and collaborating on projects with various teams to support job reporting and data analysis. The Cost Analyst role is a critical link between Sales, Technical, Purchasing, and Production to determine accurate cost and price models and identify areas of improvement through historical data research.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Utilize ERP system and excel software tools to collect, sort, and analyze historical performance of job cost and equipment, labor, material utilization. Share information with Teams to support CI efforts.
- Have a deep understanding of materials and equipment; recognizing through data, where trends appear and communicating observations with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Partner with the Operations & Engineering Teams to analyze job performance results, provide variance explanations, and influence actions to improve results.
- Construct and lead/report out on weekly cadence. Recommend improvements, coordinate follow-up actions, and resolve open matters.
- Create part routes, bills of material (BOMs), and manufacturing specs within ERP system – includes support in updates and modifications to deliver accurate standards and reporting.
- Create new product estimates for customer quotes and product development trials, utilizing current raw material, equipment, and process information.
- Support Product Development Team during research, trial, and handoff phases (to include Ecommerce for website launch).
- Manage Work Order process for new product development, blank products, process improvement trials, sample packs, etc.
- Work closely with Ops & Engineering Teams to understand product/process changes and ensure performance matches ERP standards.
- Maintain SOPs of critical processes and documentation of current standards.
- Maintain part information in ERP system; data entry and part usage/cost accuracy.
- Coordinate with Production and Technical to ensure the accuracy of estimated products and processes. Analyze run history and participate in decision-making when making part updates.
- Provide data/reports to aid in decision-making for price adjustments or new product launches.
- Review part speeds semiannually to identify gaps and adjust.
- Interact with internal customers through oral and written communications, including face-to-face and phone conversations, written documents, such as email and other messaging systems.
- Participate in weekly L10 meetings, show accountability for completing to-dos, providing feedback on roles/milestones, and staying engaged in company & department related issues.

Education and/or Experience

- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- 2-year associate or 4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
- Accounting, Engineering, Estimating or Manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Experience with data analysis, project management & process improvement is preferred.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems is required.
