Corporate Giving Director identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and implements strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Director manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives.     Associate Director of Annual Giving position details:

     

    Polytechnic School seeks an energetic and detail-oriented individual to join the Advancement team as we achieve the school’s fundraising goals and objectives.

     

     

    Annual Giving is the bedrock of philanthropic support at Poly, and we are proud to be in the leadership phase of the school’s next comprehensive campaign! The Associate Director of Annual Giving reports to the Director of Annual Giving, and works in partnership with the full Advancement team of 12. This individual will collaborate with and support the Director to create and implement a thriving and entrepreneurial annual giving program which raises over $6M in unrestricted and restricted support through 2,800 gifts each year. 

     

    The Associate Director will partner with the Director of Annual Giving to vision and execute the school’s year-long program by focusing on data analysis, donor segmentation, multi-channel strategic messaging, and volunteer engagement. Focus areas and duties are outlined below: 

     

    Administration and Project Management

    • Support the timely and expert execution of seasonal appeals and donor acquisition strategies, with particular focus on the fall appeal and spring Giving Day
    • Manage the Poly Fund and Annual Giving calendar and maintain thorough records
    • Produce and update solicitation reports with the support of Advancement Services, including volunteer and LYBUNT lists
    • Manage Giving Day platform (i.e. Scalefunder, GiveCampus, or similar platform) ensuring accurate information and ease of donor engagement
    • Embrace the necessity for accurate and timely Raiser’s Edge record-keeping as it relates to constituent information, including action entry, event attendance, etc. 
    • Coordinate Poly Fund events, including invitation and attendance management
    • Support production of Poly Fund communication in partnership with the Communications team and external providers, including: solicitations, volunteer updates and tools, stewardship, videos, and other presentations

     

    Volunteer Engagement

    • Help to staff a diverse set of Poly Fund volunteer committees consisting of parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, current & former faculty/staff, and friends
    • Manage phonathons including drafting of scripts, recruiting and training callers, and producing materials
    • Participate in Reunion/alumni giving strategy development and implementation

     

    Relationship Building

    • Meet with annual giving prospects, donors, and volunteers on an ongoing basis in order to solicit, secure, and steward their support of the Poly Fund. This also includes asking for Giving Day matches. Manage these meetings and outcomes through an assigned portfolio of 25 - 50 individuals annually, focusing on gifts of up to $10,000
    • Partner with other Advancement colleagues to ensure the health of Poly’s prospect and donor pipeline

     

    School-wide Presence

    • Collaborate with campus partners, particularly faculty, staff, parent organization leadership, and others through in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails in an effort to build greater awareness and endorsement of annual giving at Poly
    • Attend daytime and evening Advancement as well as school-wide events throughout the year

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in annual giving and/or advancement
    • Passion for education and philanthropy 
    • Positive, kind, energetic, and team-oriented 
    • Attention to accuracy and detail, with a high degree of organization and effectiveness at multitasking
    • Ability to manage, meet, and communicate about deadlines within the context of a complex calendar 
    • Ability to communicate diplomatically and comfortably, verbally and in writing, with a diverse community including parents, students, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, trustees, and Poly employees
    • Knowledge and practical experience with communication platforms: solicitations, newsletters, electronic communications, etc.
    • Computer fluency (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) at a minimum, with strong familiarity with website interface and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred
