    Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is offering an opportunity for a Controller role in Meridian, Idaho, United States. You will be working in the Custom Homes Group accounting department, managing operations, and contributing to the accounting operations of affiliated companies. This role is within the construction industry and requires a deep understanding of Accounting Software Systems, Accounting Functions, Auditing, Budget Processes, Annual Budget, Construction Accounting, ADP - Payroll, Picaso, and Bank Reconciliations.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the operations of the Custom Homes Group accounting department, including overseeing outsourced service providers.
    • Contribute to the accounting operations of affiliated companies and the parent company.
    • Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures.
    • Verify that supplier invoices should be paid and pay them by the designated due date.
    • Issue invoices to customers as soon as goods have been sold or services delivered, ensuring timely collection of accounts receivable.
    • Process payroll information with minimal errors, and issue compensation payments to employees by scheduled pay dates.
    • Reconcile accrued wages and calculate variable compensation.
    • Record cash receipts in a timely manner and deposit them promptly.
    • Complete bank reconciliations for all bank accounts at regular intervals.
    • Operate the accounting software packages and maintain a chart of accounts that fulfills the record-keeping needs of the business.
    • Maintain an orderly filing system for all paper-based accounting records, including a system of document archiving and destruction.
    • Oversee job oversight and draw communications, handle warranty and subcontractor claims, and maintain contracts and contractor licenses.
    • Prepare specialized invoicing/draw requests, perform monthly reconciliations and job closeouts, and file sales/use tax returns.
    • Enhance systems and automation, including Builder Trend, PICASO enhancements, and CYMA administration/upgrades.
    • Compile and issue accurate financial statements on a timely basis and prepare various financial analyses for management.
    • Coordinate the creation of the annual budget and assist in the preparation of the company’s annual budget and business plan.
    • Comply with all tax reporting and payment requirements and comply with any filing requirements imposed by local, state, or federal governing authorities.
    • Manage US insurance policies, including GL & WC audits, insurance certificates and named insureds, and administer bonds.
