Control & Instrument Engineer jobs in Florida

As a Quality Control Specialist, you will be an essential member of our quality assurance team, responsible for maintaining the highest standards for all manufacturing processes and products. The Quality Control Specialist is primarily responsible for nonconformance management and first piece inspections on precision machined components, utilizing industry standard inspection equipment. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards and specifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Performing root cause analysis, investigation and disposition of non-conformances in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensures the timely identification, documentation, and resolution of nonconforming materials across all stages of product acceptance.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection on parts per procedures using CMM, calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Assists Quality Manager to improve the inspection process and procedures.
• Operate CMM machine using established programs, as well as creating new programs using Calypso software.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T for proper, efficient application.
• Record data using applicable quality management system forms and software.
• Ensure all First Article Inspection (FAI) packages are properly completed.
• Document and effectively communicate nonconformities for disposition.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to enforce quality standards and make recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3 years mechanical inspection experience
• Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills
• Knowledge and usage of applicable measurement equipment, including but not limited to CMM, micrometers, height gauges, surface plate / indicators, gauge blocks / pins, thread plus / ring gauges, optical comparators, profilometers
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with Zeiss CMM with Calypso software is a plus
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system standards and requirements.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
