Being a Construction Loan Officer analyzes applicants' credit and financial status and obtains property appraisals to determine the feasibility of granting loans. Develops relationships with builders and developers to obtain referrals and future lending opportunities. Additionally, Construction Loan Officer structures construction loan terms and conditions according to policies. Approves loans within authorized limits or refers them to a loan committee for approval. May disburse loan proceeds at designated project mile. Requires a bachelor's degree. Title: Loan Officer
Reports to: Director of Loan Operations
Hours: 40 hours/week between 8a and 5p, Monday – Friday

We are seeking a motivated and hard-working Loan Officer to join our non-profit mission lender team based in Anderson, Indiana. The Loan Officer will play a critical role in helping our organization fulfill its mission to support individuals and businesses in the local community who are traditionally underserved by mainstream financial institutions.
Responsibilities
The Loan Officer position will support Bankable's small business clients and applicants through general business advisory services and loan application support. Responsibilities may include:
· Evaluate loan applications by gaining an understanding of the applicant’s business and the need for capital.
· Provide recommendations to potential borrowers on how to structure their loan request.
· Assist in conducting due diligence on loan applicants, including analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents.
· Guide applications through the underwriting process, serving as a liaison between underwriters and applicants.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of loan transactions and customer interactions.
· Present applicant’s requests to a loan committee of volunteer finance professionals, advocating on behalf of the applicant.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Fluency in Spanish and English (both written and spoken) preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Passion for using finance as a tool for social impact.
Experience working with low- and moderate-income borrowers and/or underserved communities preferred.
