The National Security Analysis Department (NSAD) is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Group Supervisor for the Operations and Program Analysis Group (JOP). As an Assistant Group Supervisor, you will work with the Group Supervisor in managing the group, with a focus on staff development, hiring, staffing, and guiding the strategy of the group.

JOP’s focus is on understanding the impact of technology on National Security issues, and involves using a variety of techniques including Modeling and Simulation, Design of Experiments, Generative AI (LLMs, foundational models, etc.), among others. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a critical role in shaping the direction of the group.

As the JOP Assistant Group Supervisor, you will...

• Assist the Group Supervisor in managing the day-to-day operations of the group, including staff development, performance management, and talent acquisition.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve group efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with the Group Supervisor to establish and achieve group goals, objectives, and priorities.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to group members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in the development of the group's long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with department and organizational goals.
• Assist in the planning, allocation, and management of resources, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including other departments, teams, and external partners.
• Perform other duties as required to support the success of the group and department.

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have...

• A Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, physics, etc.).
• Experience leading teams, with a proven track record of supervising and developing staff.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of national security issues and trends.

• An active Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...

• A Master's degree, or PhD, in a STEM-related field.
• Advanced leadership certification or training.
• Experience working in a government or industry setting, with a focus on national security analysis.
• Strong knowledge of data analysis, visualization, and presentation techniques.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong network of professional contacts in the national security community.
