Computer Operations Supervisor supervises computer operations, acting as a team resource for guidance and support on complex or unusual issues. Implements policies and procedures to perform routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and its peripherals. Being a Computer Operations Supervisor continuously monitors the efficacy of computer operations, backup processes, system monitors, and server availability to ensure operation goals are met. Analyzes and records error messages to diagnose issues and works with impacted groups to provide a timely solution. Additionally, Computer Operations Supervisor recommends potential equipment upgrades to improve the capabilities of computer operations. Ensures computer operations activities meet pre-established production targets and maintain operating budgets. May require an associate degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. General Definition of Work
Performs difficult professional work supervising the staffing, operations, programming and evaluation of designated area, assisting the director with overall administration of the assigned area, professional responsibilities in the areas of communications, public affairs, and community-based health promotion, responding to emergency or after hour requests, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Public Health Directors of Le Sueur and Waseca Counties. Divisional supervision is exercised over all personnel within the division.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, planning or related field, or equivalent experience working in a communications role within a local government or similar public service organization. Additional experience around supervision preferred.

The incumbent may encounter not public data in the course of these duties. Any access to not public data should be strictly limited to accessing the data that are necessary to fulfill the employment responsibility. Salary/Benefits: Starting wage is $38.02 per hour plus health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, vacation/sick/holiday pay and many other voluntary benefits.
