Typically reports to a top management. The Community Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     The Community Engagement & Social Impact Director is responsible for the strategy, design, and implementation of Providence Health Plan's Community Benefit program, social impact initiatives, non-profit partnerships, and caregiver volunteerism to support PHP's Mission and organizational goals. The position reports to the Executive Director of Stakeholder Engagement within the Office of the CEO and will partner cross-functionally to drive an effective and cohesive strategy that is inclusive and positively impacts the communities we serve.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Set the vision and strategy for Community Engagement & Social Impact at Providence Health Plan, including framework for Community Benefit giving, sponsorships and caregiver volunteerism.
    • Establish framework, metrics and reporting to advance Providence Health Plan’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and impact to communities.
    • Identify and support community outreach programs targeted towards Medicaid and Dual Special Needs Plan members, in partnership with lines of business leaders.
    • Ensure effective coordination and alignment of systems, processes, and internal and external resources to implement Community Engagement & Social Impact strategies.
    • Build strong relationships with local and national non-profits organizations with shared goals and values, including identifying and cultivating potential partnership opportunities to advance organizational goals and in support of Health for All initiative.
    • Represent Providence Health Plan at community engagement activities and sponsored events.
    • Develop approach for sponsored events, including coordination of activation plans, fulfillment of sponsor deliverables, and thoughtful use of tickets/seats associated with sponsorship.
    • Design framework for executive and caregiver involvement in corporate and non-profit boards and committees.
    • Partner with Executive Engagement and Communications teams to engage leaders and caregivers in social impact programs. Liaise with Caregiver Culture & Experience Committee and Mission team as it relates to caregiver volunteer activities to ensure alignment and coordination.
    • Identify metrics, track progress, and evaluate effectiveness of program investments. Make recommendations to continuously improve engagement strategies and increase participation.
    • Develop consistent reporting of community and social impact activities for leadership meetings, presentations, and external communications.
    • Raise visibility and recognition of programs and impact internally and externally through strategic communications in partnership with Communications team.
    • Respond to internal and external requests and questions related to Community Engagement & Social Impact function.
    • Develop and manage calendar of Community Engagement & Social Impact activities.
    • Contribute to and support initiatives led by Office of the CEO to deliver on our mission and organizational goals.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent educ/experience
    • 10 or more years of professional experience in corporate giving, philanthropy, or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with keen understanding of innovations and best practices in this area
    • 8 years of experience building and supporting cross-sector partnerships, programs, or campaigns with diverse stakeholders
    • 3 years of managerial experience
    • Fluency in the social impact landscape and the role of advocacy, philanthropy, and cross-sector partnerships
    • Experience in developing or leading programs from the ground up, designed for scaled impact
    • Willingness and ability to travel to in-person events.
