Community Development Manager jobs in Washington

Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are looking for a Technology Leader to manage a team of talented engineers, responsible for developing critical products and services to support one of our latest innovations, Amazon Today. This position will support a new initiative that creates externalized services that leverage the entire retail stack.

    The successful candidate will have strong technical depth, great communication skills, and motivations to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with leading technical development of retail, omnichannel is required.

    Key job responsibilities

    As a Software Development Manager (SDM), you'll manage the engineering design and decisions with a team of engineers and product partners. To succeed in this role, you believe in high standards for code quality, code reviews, testing, and operational excellence. You create mechanisms for achieving results and iterating improvements and can lead a team to deliver results in a space that operates like a start-up, with the autonomy to build the right solution from Day One. As a SDM with our team, you will collaborate with other managers on technical design and strategy with a career opportunity for growth that only Amazon can offer. The SDM should relentlessly re-prioritize the priorities and make sure higher standards are set up for the Operational excellence of the team.

    Basic Qualifications

    • 3 years of engineering team management experience
    • 7 years of engineering experience
    • 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
    • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
    • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
    • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
