Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. JOB PURPOSE
The key function of this position is to build strategic partnerships between a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), regulators, governments, industry associations, local community members, and non-profits in order to achieve company objectives. This position must collaborate with multiple functions throughout Nevada Gold Mines (e.g., mine General Managers, strategic planners, permitting, land men, exploration geologists, communications, government affairs, environmental, legal, human resources, and supply chain staff), as well as other operating regions. While this position may support sites and projects anywhere, responsibilities have a Nevada focus.
The other functions of this position include facilitating, leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Community Development Committees (CDC), including planning and evaluation, procedure/policy development and administration. This position must collaborate with multiple entities and stakeholders including NGM employees, the NGM Community Development Committees, non-profit organizations, industry partners, local government, and local communities including Reno and Las Vegas.
