This position has the primary responsibility of facilitating the commercial loan department by providing financial statement and comprehensive written credit analysis. The individual will have the skills necessary to independently prepare comprehensive loan presentations and annual reviews, analyze financial statements, prepare thorough financial and cash flow analysis, prepare and evaluate financial projections and regularly monitor customer financial performance. This individual must also be a self-starter and able to effectively communicate and collaborate with commercial lenders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares thoughtful, informative and well-written loan presentation write-ups on a timely basis for the commercial bankers
Prepares spreadsheets and summaries for commercial bankers on new, renewal and existing commercial loan customers
Performs detailed research and financial analysis on commercial customers, guarantors, and industry/economic conditions
Prepares and evaluates financial projections and performs stress tests under various economic conditions to determine potential impact on credit risk
Suggests loan covenants, terms and conditions
Suggests risk rates for credits to commercial bankers
Evaluates and reports to the Commercial Loan Administrator any deviations in the quality of the credit file system
Communicates and interfaces with Commercial Loan Administrator and commercial bankers
Compiles relationship data for the commercial loan department
Monitors adherence to ongoing financial covenant compliance
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Commercial Loan Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be detail oriented, possess superior written and verbal communication skills, possession strong inter-personal skills and be able to interact professionally with co-workers; possess strong commercial credit and risk analysis skills and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting and commercial credit principles, policies and procedures is required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: B.S./B.A.- Business Administration – Accounting/Finance/Economics preferable. Three to four years of progressive credit analysis experience or commercial lending experience, or other comparable experience in a bank or financial services environment.
INTERPERSONAL/BEHAVIORAL/COMMUNICATION: Must possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to work within a team-oriented environment will be required. Must be a self-starter and must be able to multi-task and work under certain time pressures; must be able to set priorities.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, ratios and discounts without difficulty.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to comprehend and analyze complex financial relationships and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong PC skills
