Commercial Credit Analyst jobs in New Hampshire

Commercial Credit Analyst collects, reviews, and analyzes data to prepare a detailed credit analysis that evaluates the terms and creditworthiness of commercial loan applications. Uses multiple sources of information, including financial statements, collateral appraisals, credit scores, and cash flow analysis, to assign risk ratings to loans and complete an analysis of the applicant's financial status. Being a Commercial Credit Analyst calculates debt-to-income (DTI) ratios to evaluate an applicant's ability to repay the loan. Prepares credit memos in a standardized format that includes key ratios, supporting information, an executive summary, and objective recommendations. Additionally, Commercial Credit Analyst presents credit reports to loan officers and loan committees. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Commercial Credit Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Service Credit Union is seeking a Commercial Lending Credit Analyst where you will analyze financial statements, business plans, credit reports and other relevant information of various Investment Real Estate entities, business entities and individuals to determine the degree of risk involved in a requested or existing extension of credit. Prepare clear and concise reports using a variety of analytical tools for use in decision-making by Senior Management, Loan Committees, and the Board of Directors. The position will be responsible for providing the highest level of credit analysis and adheres to the Credit Union’s Credit Policy.

    Pay: $62,650.60 annually

    Location: On-site, Portsmouth NH

    The Day to Day:

    • Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
    • Prepare Credit Approval Memorandum and Amendments to assess the credit worthiness of an applicant including more complex Business Borrowers and Commercial Real Estate transactions.
    • Evaluate customer records and loan structures and risk ratings based on earnings, balance sheet strength, payment history, management quality, guarantor strength and quality of collateral.
    • Complete Annual Reviews, Modifications of Loan Terms, including credit analyses and risk rating recommendations for submission to appropriate authority for approval, including Sr. Manager of Commercial Administration, Management Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors.
    • Work cooperatively with the Business Services Team, lenders, and assistants. Remain curios about our markets, customers, and industries that the credit union lends money.
    • Understand and interpret NCUA Regulations and Credit Union Loan Policies to aid in compliance with and/or identification of exceptions.
    • Actively participate in the Appraisal and Real Estate Evaluation, Ordering and Review Process and complete Real Estate Evaluations meeting regulatory requirements and all associated Credit Union Policies.
    • Assists in generating Reports to be used by Management, Senior Management, and the Board of Directors.
    • Assists in preparing and assembling Loan Committee and Board Committee Packages.
    • Perform other duties as needed.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in accounting, economics, finance, or business administration.
    • 3 - 5 years of experience working in Commercial Lending or Business Banking.
    • Commercial Banking Certificate Courses are preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of the Credit Union’s Member Business Loan Policies and Procedures.
    • Basic knowledge of the principals of commercial credit, commercial banking laws, NCUA guidelines, federal and state credit union laws, and regulations.
    • Basic knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, including business and individual financial statement analysis, cash flow and collateral analysis, and risk rating loans.
    • Solid interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to demonstrated business acumen.
    • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work efficiently, and effectively.
    • Developed computer skills including proficiency and capability with Microsoft programs, including Excel.
    • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as a team member but also independently.
