As an Internal Audit Director, you will be within PNC’s Internal Audit organization, leading the Internal Audit Support & Administration Quality Assurance (QA) Audit team.     The Internal Audit Director of Quality Assurance will lead the continued enhancement and execution of the Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) as well as the QAIP team. Successful candidate will also be responsible for the following:

    • Identify opportunities to enhance the QAIP based on changing Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards and regulatory requirements and guidance.
    • Lead the development and implementation of QA/Quality Control (QC) risk assessments and related execution plan.
    • Lead the execution of Vertical, Horizontal, Thematic QA reviews, as well as other QA and Quality Control (QC) activities, to confirm Internal Audit’s activities conform to the IIA standards), the IIA Code of Ethics, and applicable regulatory requirements and guidance.
    • Review QA/QC work papers, as well as provide guidance and direction for QA/QC testing procedures and audit risk and control assessments. Responsibilities will also include overseeing documenting audit and QA/QC work demonstrating command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation.
    • Present Internal Audit QA/QC findings to Internal Audit and Audit Support & Administration management.
    • Work closely with Internal Audit management and clients at all levels to develop and finalize Internal Audit QA/QC findings and recommendations regarding business process optimization, internal control, and compliance audit methodology, policies and procedures, and audit execution.
    • Responsible for the preparation of Internal Audit QA/QC monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
    o Identify and report Internal Audit QA/QC review trends to assure audit processes remain effective.
    o Identify opportunities to enhance Internal Audit practices and QA/QC efficiency and effectiveness, including use of analytics and automation.

    Job Description
    Evaluates organizational business risks; develops and communicates audit plan; and oversees execution of audits. Partners with the business on audit execution and results, serving as the relationship manager between audit and the business.
    Coordinates/monitors/reviews the execution of audit procedures including those in support management's assessment of internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the COSO Framework and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
    Oversees the deployment of team resources and performs talent management activities. Coaches and oversees development of team members.
    Collaborates with internal audit management to develop and implement internal audit policies, procedures, and best practices. Advises senior management on risk and control issues and provides practical recommendations to ensure risks are appropriately managed.
    Maintains relationships with external auditors, bank regulators, business units and senior management to ensure communication of critical issues in a timely manner.

    Work Experience Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8 years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
