Since 1982 KE | AD has focused its consulting efforts in forensics, but in recent years KE | AD expanded its service offerings to include non-legal analysis/assessment and remediation services. Overview and Responsibilities
KE is seeking a qualified person with at least 5 years of work and team experience. This position joins a talented team of engineers, inspectors, and technicians, and will have a focus on providing project and technical support to project leads throughout the organization.
The position is to fill the role of Engineering Technician. The hired candidate will be responsible for:
Technical/Billable Support (Billable work):
- Site and laboratory work
- Visual inspection/observation
- Testing (destructive and non destructive)
- Proper utilization of shop, testing, and analytical tools equipment
- Support maintenance and preparedness of tools and equipment
- Documentation (photo, video, notes, checklists)
- Forensic documentation
- Learning inspection, testing, and documentation procedures quickly and executing with confidence.
- Clear, proactive, and confident communication with clients and team members
Office work
- Project document management
- Document review and organization
- Creation field, observation, findings report
- Data organization, analysis, and development of spreadsheets
- Occasional project coordination and management support (billable tasks)
- Occasional drafting and design support
Billable Work Development (Overhead work):
- Management of own work pipeline
- You will be fed work by experts from all disciplines and business units, primarily the Building Sciences unit and mechanical discipline, therefore you will need to manage your own schedule, priorities, and work pipeline.
- Build in time each week to allow for response to emergency requests (often forensic work)
Administrative (Overhead work):
- Execute end of month requests from business management team within the deadlines provided in the request (time card, expense report, in-house expenses, invoice review)
- Keep timecard up to date (Daily), submitted monthly
- Keep accurate and up to date personal calendar for reference by engineers, architects, and management team.
- Attend at all required overhead meetings
Required Experience and Qualifications
Note: If the prospective hire does not currently own the below experience and qualifications, they must be willing to work towards obtaining them immediately upon being hired.
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Materials Engineering or Architecture.
- Minimum 5 years of work and team experience.
- Experience working on or around industrial and/or construction sites.
- Experience working on or around mechanical systems (plumbing, hvac, engines, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, vehicles, airplane, boats, etc).
- Experience working with materials including metals & alloys, aggregates, composites, plastics and ceramics.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
