    Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    This position supports our retention initiatives with first year students, first generation students, and our Construction Sciences and Building Technology (CSBT)program. Through collaboration with CSBT leadership and faculty, this individual will spend time reaching out to students who need additional assistance and facilitating outreach programs that serve the retention needs of the department. This individual will also work with our New Student Retention Coordinator on facilitating our P.A.C.E. (Positivity, Advocacy, Connections, Empowerment) program. Our P.A.C.E. program is a retention initiative that focuses on students who are first generation and in their first semester at Dunwoody. Through data and daily interactions with students, staff, and faculty this individual will gain experience designing and implementing programs and services that enhance the student experience and contribute to the retention efforts of the College. The individual will report to the Associate Dean of Students.

     

    This is a part-time position, 18-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

    • Utilize the college’s established retention data sources to support individual students; and identify, create, and implement retention and success initiatives based on data themes.
    • Work closely w/ the CSBT Academic Dean, Program Directors, and faculty to facilitate retention efforts within that department.
    • Collaborate with New Student Retention Coordinator to support PACE program participants and manage the PACE ambassador program.
    • Support retention efforts in other Student Affairs departments including Esports, Women’s Initiatives, Housing and Residence Life, Career Services, Student Success, and the Learning Commons as needed.
    • Aid with the collection, analysis, and response to assessment data throughout Student Affairs.
    • Participate in weekly Students of Concern Intervention Team (SCIT) meetings.

     

    Other

    • Ensure student privacy procedures are met by following government regulations in accordance with the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Advisors must know and adhere to FERPA regulations from day one of employment.
    • Assist with other projects and duties as assigned.

    • Ability to learn new computer programs and database management systems and demonstrate proficiency given adequate training.

    • Location: Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled office environment.

    • Bachelor's degree in any field OR
    • Associate degree AND demonstrated experience working with students in a higher education environment
