    • This position requires occasional travel from your normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS sites via all modes of military and /or commercial transportation for approximately 3-5 days duration.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in one or more of the following fields: capabilities development; acquisition; financial project management; science & technology; joint innovation & experimentation; analytics; comptroller; planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE); or serving as a joint directorate director of staff performing the following:
    1) Leading a diverse resource management team to properly identify requirements and manage directorate assets.
    2) Communicating an organization's position on an issue to a broad global audience.
    3) Writing information papers or create decision briefings suitable for Flag Officers, General Officers, Senior Government, Senior Corporate, or Academic personnel.
    4) You will manage the day-to-day activities of an organization by establishing the daily "operations cycle"
    5) Ensuring staff efficiency, task accomplishment, staff effectiveness, and organizational cohesion.
    6) Providing direct managerial oversight and/or supervision to an interdisciplinary workforce of senior personnel.
    7) Conducting thorough fact-gathering inquiries and interviews and provides accurate program planning, resource requirement identification.

    You will serve as the Director of Staff (DoS) for the U.S. INDO-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Requirements and Resources Directorate (J8) and as the principal advisor to the J8 Director for all personnel matters, budget, and contractor support. The duty station is Camp HM Smith, HI.

    This is a Term Appointment Not to Exceed 2 years.
    Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.

    This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

    Relocation expense or relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.

    Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
