  • This is a full-time hybrid role for a Chief Financial Officer at BioDerm Inc. located in Geneva, IL., with flexibility for work from home. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for financial planning, preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and generating financial reports. They will also be responsible for overseeing financial operations, implementing financial strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.


    Essential Functions (ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES):

    To include the following, other duties may be assigned:

    • Fiscal Integrity:  Maintain the company’s fiscal integrity. Provide strong oversight of financial controls, measurements, and systems
    • Strategic Planning:  Partner with the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the Executive Leadership Team to establish the company’s long-term strategic and financial plans and targets. In concert with the company’s senior leaders, act as a catalyst for the activities necessary to support the growth initiatives of the company and foresee and resolve potential constraints on the pace of growth.
    • Accounting & Finance:  Oversee all Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Internal Controls, Budgeting & Forecasting, Financial & Operational Performance Measurement, Business Systems, Cashflow, Tax, and Risk Management. 
    • Finance Team:  Maintain and lead a Finance team which should become a leader in driving process and profit improvements, as well as in raising efficiency and productivity standards.
    • Financial Decision Making:  Have a strong influence on the operating aspects of the company to ensure accurate forecasting and quarterly guidance; strengthen partnership between Finance and the business to ensure good financial decision making and dependable forecasting. 
    • Mergers & Acquisitions:  Play a central role in the merger and acquisition process, including both due diligence and integration. 
    • IT Infrastructure:  Provide input to manage information technology, including enterprise-wide planning and implementation of financial systems. 
    • Communication with Equity Sponsors and Board of Directors:  Maintain communication and regular contact with the Equity Sponsors and Board of Directors.

    Qualifications:

    Experience

    • Financial Planning, Financial Statements, and Financial Reporting skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Experience in finance and accounting
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance
    • Excellent leadership and management skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively and remotely

    Education

    • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA or CFA certification is a plus

Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and the analysis and identification of acquisition targets/joint ventures, and post-acquisition integration.

Has a high bar as it relates to achieving performance goals, objectives, and forecasts. Creates a performance-based culture of accountability.     • Collaboration:  A servant leader who contributes to an atmosphere in which people work together to produce outstanding results.  Is comfortable presenting to both small and large audiences in the investment community; someone easily seen as credible, personable, and dependable. Is skilled at working with senior executives, both inside and outside the organization, in ways that are collaborative.
