     A Day in the Life
    This position translates risk tolerance and organizational constraints into technical requirements and specifications for security activities; develops metrics for performance measurement and reporting regarding security issues; and coordinates technical activities within Information Services to appropriately manage applicable security infrastructure.  Supervision may be exercised over subordinate technical and administrative personnel.
     
    Work requires the development and maintenance of a security program and related security projects; the development of budget projections for various security initiatives; the development of appropriate policies, standards and guidelines related to security for eventual adoption by decision makers; communication with a wide-ranging constituency (technical, managerial, and elected officials); and the management of security projects as required by the City/County enterprise.  

    Other requirements include considerable knowledge of managerial principles, risk assessment and mitigation, and security testing concepts.
    Hours:  Full time, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    Minimum Qualifications:  
    • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in information security, computer science, business administration, information systems, or related field.
    • Two years experience in an information security role.
    • Two years of experience in a managerial capacity; or equivalency.
    Preferred Qualification:
    • CISSP (certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification or similar security-related certification, or completion of the CISSP advanced security certification in the first year of employment.
