    Summary:

    Responsible for overseeing daily operations of the 245G treatment program, delivering programming and staff administration, coordinating with staff and clients to address crises and ethical issues, and carrying out other managerial duties as assigned by management. The Treatment Director is also responsible for performing substance use disorder assessments, facilitating interdisciplinary treatment and discharge plans and providing individual and group substance use disorder counseling services. The alcohol and drug counselor will have skills to carry out the 12 core functions and all other counseling duties identified by Minnesota statute 245G.

    The Treatment Director position will support anti-oppressive/anti-racist practice, and trauma-responsive practice in all aspects of their interactions with staff, community, and company stakeholders through their administrative and operations support of program staff working on site and in community to address socioeconomic and health disparity. Comfort and proven experience and interest in working with staff with a range of identities including age, developmental and acquired disabilities, religion, spirituality, ethnicity, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, relationship structure, indigenous heritage, national origin, immigration status, and gender is required.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supervise treatment team
    • Responsible for the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training and management of all program staff in collaboration with HR Manager
    • Function as a leader of a treatment team, comprised of LADC, ADC Supervisor, and other staff members, as needed
    • In collaboration with company management, develop and adhere to budgets and financial records
    • Facilitate weekly supervision and performance management of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors and clinical trainees (ADCT)
    • Maintain accurate supervision notes and training plans to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements
    • Ensure compliance with professional training requirements per MN 245G for the clinical staff
    • Collaborate with the ADC Supervisory team to ensure delivery of quality clinical services
    • Demonstrate ethical leadership and sound clinical decision-making as a role-model for the clinical team
    • Render decisions about client intakes and discharges directly, or through task delegation to an intake or ADC supervisor
    • Complete assessments and treatment plans utilizing ASAM criteria and sound clinical writing
    • Facilitate intake, orientation, group activities, individual counseling and family counseling for clients in the program
    • Oversee and support partnerships and collaborations with our partner organizations
    • Work closely with clients to engage them in the decision-making process and help them understand the benefits of assessment and accessing the appropriate level of care as indicated
    • Manage program spreadsheets to ensure compliance with enhanced rate personnel tracking as laid out in 245G and Minnesota Health Care Program's provider manual
    • Provide backup coverage to the team
    • Develop and oversee the program schedule and ensure daily coverage

    Education/Experience:

    • At least one year of work experience in direct service to individuals with substance use disorder or one year of experience in the management or administration of direct service to individuals with substance us disorders
    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.); or three years of work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services AND
    • Know and understand the implications of Minnesota 245G, 245A, 626.557 and 626.5572
    • Completion of at least 12 hours of clinical and ethical supervision
    • Must have completed 30 hours of classroom training or one 3 credit college course in adolescent development
    • Must demonstrate competent and exemplary leadership and clinical decision-making
    • Must demonstrate competence in screening for and working with clients with co-occurring disorders, through education, training, and experience.
    • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
