The Job You Will Perform- Collect and test samples as needed from various points of the mill process as needed.
- Collect and test potable water samples monthly and report to the State.
- Maintain stock of all consumables in every lab.
- Maintain all lab equipment mill-wide (8 labs) and keep in working condition.
- Complete monthly/quarterly/yearly calibration route by the 15th of every month.
- Maintain records of calibrations and repairs of all equipment with ProCal software.
- Maintain the calibration/repair shop to do on site repairs when possible to lab equipment.
- Maintain vendor contracts and calibration records for master calibration equipment – this includes scheduling any necessary preventive maintenance needed for the equipment.
- Maintain and keep current knowledge base for testing procedures used in the pulp and environmental labs.
- Train CO-OP students to test in the environmental and production labs.
- Perform laboratory tests in pulp machine and fiberline areas.
- Must exhibit good safety and risk assessment skills
- Able to communicate well at multiple levels and situations (including both written and verbal communication skills)
- Be a strong team player
- Good computer skills (functional in Outlook, Word, and Excel – PowerPoint a plus) – must be able to enter data into a computer spreadsheet and then email.
- Lift and carry boxes, packed coolers, or other weight either by stairs or elevator
- Work inside and out in extreme heat and cold
- Simple Math skills
- Must be able to work in a lab environment paying exceptional attention to detail.
