Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time IT Operations Manager to work out of our branch in Waggaman, LA. the IT Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day IT platform, ensuring a positive user experience; primarily simplicity, reliability and security. This person needs to be versatile and willing to handle basic day-to-day tasks as well as understand and operate our overall IT environment. The role will ensure compliance with best practice IT controls and cyber security arrangements, including in line with the requirements set by the PLC parent company. As the business is a multi-location operation, the requirement for a resilient and smooth-running IT operation is of paramount importance. Management recognizes the importance of IT, and the improvements required to the function, and are looking to invest for improved service levels.
Essential Duties:
- Formulate and communicate an IT operations strategy to drive the required improvements to the environment; standardization, simplification and integration.
- Translate the vision into short-, medium- and long-term plans. Identify the resources required to deliver the strategy in a timescale which is ambitious, but also ensures quality and consistent execution.
- Provide the board of directors with assurance and confidence on delivery of the strategy and the ongoing effectiveness of the IT function. Identify measures to track improvements to user experience, resilience, and cyber security.
- Lead and manage the internal IT team and outsourced IT supply chain. Instil a positive culture focused on customer service excellence. Implement performance management disciplines, including the use of appraisals and key performance indicators.
- Management of the IT budget spend, seeking value for money from resources.
- Design, deliver and oversee the smooth running of the IT platform. Drive improvements in the day-to-day user experience.
- Act as an escalation point for service issues and run the crisis management process when required.
- Drive improved cyber security arrangements, including the achievement of Cyber Essentials.
- Create and maintain IT operations policies, procedures and controls. Ensure that disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and evaluated.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and PLC Group requirements. Work collaboratively and constructively with the PLC Group IT team.
