Summary
Position will maintain and grow current business relationships, increase business accounts, and focus heavily on bringing new relationships to the bank. Initiates contact with potential companies or community businesses and their employees through visits, mailings, and phone calls.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development

Retains and continues to develop customer relationships by providing a consistent quality of service that is timely, thorough, and responsive to all customers.

Actively participate in the bank’s Business Development program by contacting existing customers, prospective customers, and various community organizations, ensuring its continued good standing and growth in the community.

Sells banking products and services to customers/prospects through analyzing customer needs and recommends appropriate products. Actively solicits and refers new deposit and loan accounts.

Participate in community and civic functions, either in an advisory or active capacity, representing the Bank, with emphasis on maintaining and developing business relationships.

Inspire and motivate lending and deposit teams during regular Business Development meetings.
About You:
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience.

Over 5 years of banking or business development.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:
-
Ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals Ability to solve problems and make decisions.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Must be self-motivated, and able to work independently
-
Knowledge of Valley Bank products/services to effectively present appropriate solutions to customers

Ability to maintain professionalism with disgruntled customers

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position will do heavy travel at 75% of time. Also, will routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Typical office environment with extensive keyboarding requirements and be able to operate routine office equipment. Occasionally perform work on computer and routinely travel by car.
