Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Opportunity

    We are looking for a Business Development Director responsible for selling the Flywheel service offerings to some of the world’s largest brands. As a Business Development Director, you will develop and execute a consultative sales strategy within an assigned territory to drive revenue growth with leading brands. You will work in partnership with the pre-sales and marketing teams to prospect and engage relevant stakeholders within Targeted brands to develop opportunities across all relevant services and markets, managing these throughout the sales process until completion. This role requires high attention to detail and organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

    What You'll Do

    • Responsible for revenue growth to goal for a specific territory of targeted brands
    • Actively prospect and develop a qualified new business pipeline
    • Manage complex sales-cycles from initial customer engagement to closed sales
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of current market trends and client needs. Expert in what we do and how we do it, to solve clients’ problems and enable them to achieve agreed-upon metrics
    • Comprehensive understanding of the sales process with the ability to engage executives at different levels of the organisation
    • End-to-End Business Planning: Ability to build and defend through proof points, and strong storyboards in delivery of our capabilities and service offerings in support of client needs
    • Manage accurate lead, pipeline and forecast reporting on a regular basis
    • Collaborate with pre-sales and product marketing to create join demand generation strategies and potential use cases to engage prospective clients
    • Attend networking events to promote Flywheel solutions and identify potential future clients
    • Collaboration: Must work with the Client Services organization to ensure we have command of the value proposition for all products and services, as well as current trends, and market demands. Possess the ability to communicate to prospective Clients how we can help their business challenges and promote growth
    • Thought Leader: Having a pulse and opinion on industry news, translating macro trends into tailored recommendations and actions for clients

    Who You Are

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher
    • 10 years of sales experience, selling mid-market to enterprise solutions into large companies (CPG companies would be advantageous);
    • Ability to reach and develop relationships with C-Level leadership or senior executives in your respective territory / accounts
    • Ability to sell internally and externally and have interrelationships across teams
    • Highly motivated Hunter mentality
    • Self starter with a large network of CPG contacts
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Able to travel up to 15% as needed
    • 1-2 years of experience with Salesforce
    • High attention to detail with the ability to efficiently prioritize and execute projects with quality
    • Strong communicator, naturally curious, and genuinely cares about client outcomes
    • Experience managing external relationships to meet mutually beneficial goals
    • Solution-oriented mindset that thrives in ambiguity and figuring out solutions and processes to complex problems
    • Comfortable in analyzing dashboards and utilizing spreadsheets with mastery of basic excel formulas and pivot tables to extract and clearly communicate insights from murky data
    • Bias for action with a scrappy willingness to roll up your sleeves and go the extra mile to persist and get the job done
    • Sense of ownership complemented by strong organization and project management skills to meet deadlines
    • Team player with a genuine desire to contribute to the overall success of the entire team in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate internally with colleagues

    This position is commission eligible.

    The Interview Process

    Every role starts the same, an introductory call with someone from our Talent Acquisition team. We will be looking for company and values-fit as well as your professional experience; there may be some technical role-specific questions during this call.

    Every role is different after the initial call, but you can expect to meet several people from the team 1:1 and there might be further skill assessments in the form of a Take Home Assignment/Case Study Presentation or Pair Programming/Live Coding exercise depending on the role. In your initial call, we will walk you through exactly what to expect the process to be.
