Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. This position is responsible for the management and operation of the John W. Pitts Center (JWP Center).
Job Responsibilities
· Open and close the JWP Center
· Lead part-time staff
· Handle request from users
· Enforce rules and regulations of the JWP Center
· Responsible for in-depth knowledge of the Emergency Action Plan to carry out duties and will render first aid in emergencies.
Required Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Excellent customer service skills and able to work well with the public
· Experience with Microsoft Office
· Knowledge of recreational activities
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with community or group activities
