    Delta’s international headquarters is located in Bismarck, North Dakota. Currently, our dedicated team consists of almost 100 employees, of which about half work within our headquarters office and the other half work remotely throughout the US and Canada. Our organization has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years and this is expected to continue.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    Delta Waterfowl Foundation is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Regional Biologist to assist in the delivery and expansion of Delta’s current waterfowl programs in the US Prairie Pothole Region (PPR).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Manage delivery of Delta Waterfowl’s waterfowl programs within US PPR target areas.
    • Assist with developing an annual budget for waterfowl programs.
    • Recruit and train individuals responsible for delivering Delta programs.
    • Complete project field work as needed to meet annual program objectives, including delivery of project supplies and installation and maintenance of Hen Houses.
    • Communicate with state and federal agencies, along with other non-profit organizations, to discuss and obtain permission and permits to deliver Delta programs.
    • Generate proposals as needed for state and federal agency permits and fulfill permit requirements including close-out reports.
    • Use available technology (GIS) and field reconnaissance to select, map, and evaluate Delta’s waterfowl programs.
    • Represent Delta and deliver presentations at meetings and public forums as directed.
    • Assist the Delta science team with the determination of research needs and the development of high-quality research projects.
    • Respond to programmatic questions from Delta members and others via email and phone conversations.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a wildlife or natural resources field.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft applications, including spreadsheets, internet, and computer applications.
    • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) software and applications is preferred.
    • Must be able complete physically demanding tasks and lift/carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
    • Must be able to operate a truck and trailer and other small equipment (bobcat, auger, etc.) as needed.
    • Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimum supervision and guidance.
    • Must have demonstrated leadership skills, excellent organizational skills, and work well as a team member.
    • Trustworthy and possessing the highest personal and professional integrity and quality standards.
    • Must be willing to incur overnight travel.
