Job Summary:
The Bereavement Coordinator at Interim HealthCare of Wichita will provide compassionate support to families who have recently lost a family member. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining a bereavement program to meet the needs of bereaved families and/or caregivers for 12 months following the death of a hospice patient.
Responsibilities:

* Primarily responsible for coordinating the assessment of grief following the death of the patient, determining the needs of family members of the deceased and ensuring timely and appropriate services in response.
* May provide bereavement individual or group counseling in response to anticipatory grief or bereavement as qualified, or makes appropriate referrals for such services.
* Provide bereavement support and counseling, both in-person and over the phone
* Document all interactions with families and other involved parties
* Anticipate and provide a timely response to a patient's bereavement needs
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
* 2 years of bereavement or hospice care experience
* Demonstrated understanding and empathy with hospice patients and their families
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to remain composed in challenging situations
