Understands and supports company and site safety policies and performs work related activities in a safe manner. Recognizes unsafe work conditions, coaches peers, and suggests new safety standards as appropriate Sets up new spare parts and maintains spare parts database by inputting/updating item descriptions, part numbers, unit of measure, locations, etc. Identifies part description discrepancies, can troubleshoot, and resolve (eg. Multiple part numbers for same part, multiple parts for same part number, etc.) Identifies inventory inaccuracies, can research, troubleshoot, and resolve Manages storeroom locations and transfers item locations as needed Works with the technical teams to reduce on hand inventory through the optimization of minimum and maximum order quantities and managing slow-moving and obsolete parts Completes weekly cycle counts Runs inventory reports Plans and executes inventory projects Manages parts counter, locates and checks out parts as needed Assists customers in finding parts Provide assistance to technicians, coordinators, and technical leaders Ensures all parts are checked out accurately and have associated work orders when needed Follows and enforces storeroom processes to optimize spare part inventory Serves as a backup for receiving daily deliveries, ensuring delivery accuracy, entering receipts into ERP software, labeling and putting away replenishment parts Processes parts returned to the storeroom Identifies high risk part outages and escalates as appropriate Update part lead times in ERP software Follows up on delivery dates for outstanding purchase orders Runs parts reservation reports and kits parts to work orders for upcoming planned work Owns a storeroom result area, such as repairable and/or rebuildable parts, large parts storage, storeroom layout Handles out of stock and emergency spare parts issues Tracks repairable, rebuildable and warranty parts Can troubleshoot and manage returns of incorrectly fulfilled vendor orders Move large parts and pallets with a forklift – will need to become forklift certified Prepares shipments and track outgoing vendor repairs Conducts daily housekeeping procedures in the storeroom and maintain 5S areas to standard Other duties as assigned SELECTION CRITERIA Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience/Qualifications A minimum of 3-5 years related storeroom experience required A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with computerized inventory management software required A minimum of 3-5 years inventory management experience required A minimum of 1-2 years working with parts management required Experience in working with industrial equipment parts preferred Experience working in a large storeroom (over 2500 parts) preferred PHYSICAL DEMAND The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and duties of this job. The applicant must pass an occupational physical test. Employee is required to have a minimum of 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses. The applicant must pass a standard eye exam. Typical schedule is 6:00am – 6:30pm on a 2-2-3 schedule. Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed. Computer usage. Environment temperature varies between hot and cold conditions. Must be able to work in a cold (-10 degrees F) freezer environment on a frequent basis. Noise level is moderate to high; hearing conservation program required.
