Bankruptcy Specialist is responsible for the documentation and filing of loan bankruptcy materials with the appropriate attorneys. Ensures full compliance with loan bankruptcy regulations. Being a Bankruptcy Specialist monitors accounts throughout the loan bankruptcy process and contacts appropriate party when necessary. Verifies the bankruptcy is secured and acquires a copy of the proposed Chapter 13 Plan on all secured accounts. Additionally, Bankruptcy Specialist captures Chapter 7 reaffirmation agreements to management for approval. Distributes account balances and interest rates to the secured and unsecured balances. Stays current with changing state specific bankruptcy laws. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bankruptcy Specialist works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Bankruptcy Specialist typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Description:
Monitor loans in Bankruptcy to ensure the debtor is in compliance with the bankruptcy plan and that Citizens Mortgage adheres to investor, state, federal and bankruptcy court guidelines/timeframes. Bankruptcy Specialist works with the Foreclosure, Loss Mitigation, Escrow Analysis, Taxes and the Insurance department communicating the bankruptcy status. They ensure Proof of Claims, Motions for Relief, Payment Change Notices, Post Petition Fees and Costs are prepared by counsel, are accurate and all aspects of the bankruptcy are handled according to investor guidelines and timeframes. They are the first point of contact for bankruptcy attorney and customers in bankruptcy. The Bankruptcy Specialist II ensures that Citizens abides by all state and federal bankruptcy rules/laws. They ensure that Citizens is not sanctioned by any states or federal organizations for failure to maintain bankruptcy timeframes. Candidate must have at least three consecutive years of Bankruptcy experience, in all chapters and processes.
