Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     What You Will Do

    • Perform hearing tests
    • Perform fittings for hearing aids and troubleshooting of current hearing aid technology
    • Provide recommendations based on testing
    • Acts as a subject matter expert on products sold by HearCANADA
    • Work with the front office staff to book both walk-in clients and incoming phone calls
    • Follow both Operational and Quality Assurance guidelines

    What We Are Looking For

    • University Degree from a recognized Audiology program or equivalent
    • Current registration in good standing with regulatory college or provincially recognized licensing body is required (NSCASLP - Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists)
    • Current knowledge of hearing health care products and services
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to establish and maintain a professional rapport with clients and co-workers
    • Travel may be required to support clients
    • Ability to work part-time or full-time
