Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Economics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. Economics Professor

  • The Economics instructor will teach course offerings (ECO 201 Economic Concepts, ECO 210- Macroeconomics, and/or ECO 211 - Microeconomics) at Midlands Technical College (MTC) and dual enrollment sites either on-campus, virtual, or on-line during the regular daytime hours and occasionally nights.

    • The MTC courses, and by extension the instructor, are under the purview of MTC and the supervision of the appropriate MTC Department Chair/Program Director. 
    • The instructor is expected to comply with all MTC policies and procedures. The courses should contain the required student learning outcomes as defined by the department, assessment, and evaluation of student learning outcomes and instructional effectiveness. 
    • The instructor is expected to prepare course plans and material, manage the classroom environment, and keep updated records in the learning management system for all courses. 
    • The instructor will be responsible for compiling department-wide data for the student learning outcomes and reporting the findings annually, contribute to the innovative curriculum development for economics courses, and coordinating the materials for all economics classes (book selections and on-line course compliance). 
    • The instructor will also support all adjunct faculty within the discipline with discipline-specific matters.

    This position is located on the Airport Campus and off-campus in the School of Education and Public Service-Social and Behavioral Sciences department.
    Master's degree in Economics, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Economics.
