Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for an ambitious Accounting Intern to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. This will be a 90 day employment intern position. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
· Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
· Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
· Organize a financial filing system that is easily accessible.
· Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
· Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
· Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
· Assist with the implementation of fixed asset database.
· Assist with other accounting projects.
· Performs other related duties as directed.
Requirements
Experience, Education, and Licensure/Certification Requirements:
· Must have completed introductory accounting courses and have a basic understanding of financial principles.
· Experience in agriculture and/or operations preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent knowledge of MS Office
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Must work well with others as well as work independently.
· Must be a team player and motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge.
· Ability to fill-in for other positions in areas with limited staff availability
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
