Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of Arts and Sciences. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The College of Arts and Sciences at Creighton University is hiring an Executive Assistant to support the Dean. This is a day position working primarily Monday – Friday, on campus.
The Executive Assistant performs complex, advanced, diversified, and confidential administrative duties. Communicates and coordinates executive’s instructions and desires with various individuals and/or departments. Schedules appointments and arranges meetings, conferences, and travel. Organizes and maintains correspondence and projects, following up on pending matters with limited direction. Prepares special reports and correspondence, summarizing and analyzing data. Communicates with individuals at all levels in the organization, industry, and community. Organizes and expedites work through executive’s office and initiates follow-up action. Assignments are broad in nature and usually require critical thinking, originality, and ingenuity. May oversee the work of others and serve as a resource in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
