    Position Summary

    The Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions of the University of Oregon School of Law. The Assistant/Associate Director works closely with the Assistant Dean to annually enroll a first-year class that meets the School's enrollment goals and standards required by the American Bar Association. Together with the Assistant Dean, the Assistant/Associate Director helps create and implement annual recruitment and enrollment initiatives that are part of the strategic goals of the School of Law. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, the Assistant/Associate Director assists with managing the annual admissions calendar, admissions communications, JD recruitment and counseling, and the review of applications, scholarships, and fellowship opportunities.

    Minimum Requirements

    Assistant Director level position:

    • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant professional experience; OR
    • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

    Associate Director level position:

    • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant professional experience; OR
    • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and two years of relevant professional experience.

    Professional Competencies

    • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty from culturally diverse backgrounds and with multiple intersectional identities; and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the university community.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills sufficient to work as part of a team or independently.
    • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and accurately reporting data to a variety of audiences.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • JD, or an advanced degree in a related field from an accredited university or college.
    • Professional experience in JD Admissions.
    • Supervisory experience.
