    Position Title: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Music (Voice) and Director of Opera Theatre

    Position Status: Full-time, tenure-track, 10-month contract, beginning August 1, 2024.

    Reports to: Chair of the Music Department and Dean of School of Fine and Performing Arts

    Qualifications: Terminal degree in voice or vocal pedagogy (i.e. DMA, PhD.). ABD candidates and applicants holding a masters degree with considerable professional experience will be considered. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level, especially in applied classical and musical theatre voice. Preference for two or more years of experience directing opera.

    Classification: Full-Time Faculty

    Job Summary: Full-time, tenure-track position beginning in August 2024. Primary responsibilities include:

    • Teaching applied voice.
    • Directing two opera productions per academic year.
    • Recruiting to and building a vocal studio and opera program.
    • Teaching other music courses.
    • Academic advising.
    • Maintaining an active professional profile.
    • Participating in university, community, and church service.
    • Contingent on candidate qualifications, additional responsibilities may include: Teaching general music courses or courses in voice such as lyric diction, opera literature, or vocal pedagogy, or other areas depending on qualifications.
    • Other responsibilities assigned by the department chair and/or dean.

    The ideal candidate will have an established record of success in growing a program, experience as a performer, pedagogue, and director, and a commitment to diversity in teaching, recruitment, creative activity, and service.
