Animal Technician jobs in Michigan

Piper Health & Sciences is seeking motivated, entry-level candidates to join a leading pharmaceutical company as an Animal Technician in Lansing, MI .

This role supports the in vivo laboratory and is a great opportunity to gain industry experience in preclinical research!

Responsibilities for the Animal Technician include :

• Daily care and maintenance of animals within the lab facility, including feeding, watering, behavior observation, and maintaining a high level of cleanliness.
• Perform technical assessments of small animals including weighing, identification, and euthanasia (as needed).
• Ensure proper documentation of all completed tasks, in accordance with applicable SOPs.
• Operate autoclaves, cage washers, rack washers, etc. to maintain cleanliness of the cages and facilities.
• Use proper animal handling techniques in accordance with SOPs and GLP guidelines.

Qualifications for the Animal Technician include :

• Minimum of a High School Diploma, AAS, or Bachelor’s degree.
• 0-1 years of experience working with animals, preferably in a regulated lab environment.
• Willingness to work with animals in a preclinical research setting.

Compensation for the Animal Technician includes :

• Salary Range : approximately $ - $ hourly, commensurate with experience
