Individuals over the age of 21 begin their career at Pacific West Ambulance in the Wheelchair Transportation Department where they start earning seniority and gaining valuable skills such as navigation, patient communication, radio etiquette, and creative problem solving.
Customer service is of the upmost importance since you will be working with a variety of different clients. We transport patients to and from all types of medical appointments to all types of medical facilities as far as they may need.
Candidate must be comfortable operating a large vehicle and driving for as much as 12 hours a shift. We operate Transit / Sprinter vans. Obtain paid training in CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.
As an employee of Pacific West Ambulance, you will work out of one of our 2 stations throughout Lincoln County, i.e. Lincoln City or Newport. You must be flexible for either starting location as it could change daily.

Many of our non emergency drivers have moved up to become EMT's in our 911 ambulance department so we offer free EMT education tuition with Oregon Coast Community College to attend an EMT program to help progress your career with Pacific West Ambulance.
Candidates must have good driving record. No speeding tickets above 15mph over the posted limit in the last 3 years or DUII convictions in the last 15 years. No more than 2 traffic tickets or accidents in the last 3 years.
Candidates must pass a background check and a urine analysis test. (no THC due to federal contracts.)
