Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed.     We are seeking a skilled Application Security Specialist to focus on securing our applications. In this role, you will identify vulnerabilities, implement (and help expand) the Collins Application Security Playbook, apply security best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to protect our critical applications and systems.

    What YOU will do:

    • You will conduct comprehensive security assessments and code reviews, generate threat models, and create and help implement a "Secure Software Development Life Cycle" process.
    • You will collaborate with development teams to prioritize and address vulnerabilities.
    • You will provide expert guidance on secure coding practices and deliver training sessions.
    • You will oversee security testing, such as penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.
    • You will implement security tools to enhance application security.
    • You will create and maintain security documentation, guidelines, and standards.
    • You will collaborate across teams to integrate security into the development process.
    • You will assess security risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and drive risk management efforts.
    • You will stay informed about security trends and drive continuous process improvement.

    Education & Experience:

    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

    Qualifications you must have:

    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field.
    • Substantial experience in application security or related roles.
    • Familiarity with secure coding practices, vulnerabilities, and testing.

    Skills We Value:

    • 10 years' experience in application security or related field.
    • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or CEH.
    • Hands-on experience with security assessments, testing, and tools.
    • Strong knowledge of application security frameworks (e.g., OWASP).
    • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C , Java).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to drive and implement security initiatives.
    • Experience working in or with Engineering teams.

    The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
